My parents are pretty much the best. Most people can say thank you to their mom and dad for general things- food, shelter, teaching them how to be a decent human being, etc., but I have so much more to thank mine for. They really are the best teachers in the world, and have set my little brother and I up for so much success. They're supportive of every little thing we decide to do, which I think that in all honesty most kids can't say about their parents, and they drive us to be the best at whatever that thing we choose happens to be without being overbearing. In this past year, my first year of college, I've only realized more and more how much I owe them, and how much they've been right about the little (and big) things.
During the entirety of what was probably the hardest year of my life so far, they were both overwhelmingly patient, loving, and strong. I can only hope and pray that someday my kids will be blessed with parents just as outstanding as I have.
So here's to 25 years of the best marriage I've ever witnessed! I love you both <3
